"Today is my quit day. I have my healthy snacks ready and have planned a busy day for myself to distract myself from thinking about smoking. I’m a 44 year smoker but did manage to give up for 18 months, even if it was 5 years ago. "
"Day 10, and I sat around with my brother’s friends at his birthday party - everyone smoking! I managed to say no. I’ve found that saying “no thanks, I’m not a smoker,” is a better frame of mind than “I’m very tempted but I’m quitting.” Hoping you keep up your goals this week! Keep it up. You’re doing yourself a world of good."
This is what I find the hardest - being around other smokers. When I’m around people smoking, I start to crave it, even though I’ve been a non smoker for years. So I try and stay away as much as I can from these situations- cos if I start again, that’s it for me
