"Day 3. Had to cancel the ‘reminders’, ‘motivation messages’ etc as I’ve been doing well, but every time these pop up to remind me how well I’ve been doing it makes me think about cigarettes which I haven’t been doing as I’ve kept myself extremely busy, so I’ve switched them off and will make use of the distractions and aids as needed. "

Hi Ruth, I also have bad dreams if I leave patches on overnight - try removing before sleep. Works for me, but put a fresh on on first thing in the morning!

"Day 1. Munching on gum and applied my first patch. Allergic reaction to the adhesive so have applied to the top of my right foot. So far, so good! Been with Quitline for a couple of weeks and have reduced my smoking by about 50% without using patches until today, only gum.. Now it's time to get real!"

"I’m not going to beat myself up over this as I feel my smoking habits are gradually changing. Went 16 days cold turkey then had a shocker of a day as we are renovating. Puffed away for an evening and realised it did not give me the gratification I thought it would. Three days off them now but popped a patch on today just to make sure."

"15 days in now. I am feeling so good. Cravings are becoming less intense, I was very snappy the first 7 days till someone explained that was my brain trying to get me to smoke. The more you learn about triggers the better it seems to get"

"I thought I could quit with no support, but failed everytime. This time I spoke to Quitline and they were amazing! I got patches and lozenges and it’s made it so much easier. 2 weeks and I stopped smoking ciggies!! Still on the patches and lozenges - might even try the spray"

"I feel like I smoke because I liked how it hit and burnt my throat, it hurt my lungs and pained my chest and for some reason I was addicted to this over than anything else. I don't know how to remedy this. Send tips! The cravings are HARD"
